| Bio: | ![]() OOC. Name/Alias: Megan E-mail: flufflekittens@gmail.com AIM: MegaDorkable How active can you be? I'm on every day for at least an hour, usually more. Past RP experience: See Character. Character Name: Remus John Lupin Age/Birthdate: 23 / March 10th 1960 Wand: 11" Ash, Unicorn Tail hair core. Bloodline: Half-blood. Why this character: Remus is my favourite male character by far, and I don't often play males so I thought I'd give it a shot! What is said about your character on the lexicon? If you changed canon facts, what did you change? Remus' lexicon page is here, and it is quite long, and tedious. I haven't changed a thing. Look at the available/taken list and put which characters (at least ten names) that your character would interact or be familiar with: Nymphadora Tonks-Lupin, Teddy Lupin, James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, Harry Potter, Lily Potter, Severus Snape, the Order Members, the Weasley clan (specifically of the Molly, Arthur and their spawn variety). Portrayed-By: Vincent Kartheiser. Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual. He's canonly married to Nymphadora Tonks. Personality: Remus is a calm, collected sort of man, and always has been. He's never been particularly temperamental, or excitable. He's a very capable wizard, and very intelligent, though people have a tendency to underestimate him. He's very kind, and loyal to his friends. He's curious, and likes to think about things just for fun. Remus is a likable fellow all around, and has a strong sense of humour. Unfortunately once a month he becomes very uncharacteristically temperamental, irritable, and tired due to his lycanthropy. His biggest flaw is that he likes being liked, and he gives a lot of slack to his friends because of it. He also sometimes allows people who like him to push him into things he doesn't want to do. He's extremely modest, to the point of pushing low-self-esteem. He knows he's intelligent, and a good person but he sometimes doesn't believe he deserves the kindness people give him. Family: John & Sarah Lupin - His parents, they died during the early eighties. His father offended Fenrir Greyback with a rather offensive article in the Daily Prophet. Nymphadora Tonks - Remus' wife. He still vaguely believes she could've found someone better than him, but nonetheless loves her. Teddy Lupin - His son, unfortunately orphaned. Remus never, even in a million years, believed he'd have a child, and he adores Teddy, even if he didn't get to spend much time with him. Personal History: Remus' parents were poor, and Remus was an unexpected, and rather unwanted child. His childhood was relatively peaceful, and simple until he was five. He played in the fields, sometimes with some muggle boys that lived nearby. He was an intelligent child, often enjoying the books his father had lying around the house. When he was five while his father was away on a windy, chilly night Remus was in bed reading by candlelight when he heard a howl outside his window. He was initially frightened, and hid under his covers until he heard the animal whine. He climbed out the window, and saw a large wolf-like creature standing nearby. Remus called out to the animal, thinking it was just a loose dog. The werewolf attacked, Remus was bit, and maimed, but wasn't killed due to the werewolf being scared off by a gunshot from a local farmer who heard Remus screaming. His mother took him to St. Mungos, but they couldn't cure werewolf bites. At first he didn't completely understand why his mother was weeping, and the first time his parents locked him in the barn on the full moon he thought that he'd done something wrong. That first change from boy to wolf was the second most horrific experience of his childhood, the first being the attack. And the next day when he asked his mum what what happened, all she would do is sob, and hug Remus tightly. It wasn't till a trip to Diagon Alley he would learn what he was. While his mother was shopping in the Apothacary, Remus saw a boy who lived nearby who he'd played with before, and when he ran over to say hi, the boy shunned him saying that his mother had said that he wasn't allowed to play with Remus anymore because he was a werewolf. Then of course the boy's mother proceeded to grab her son scolding him for "going near that vermin boy". Remus looked up werewolf in a book as soon as he got home, and learned what he was. The rest of his childhood Remus spent either in a book, or in the barn. He didn't play outside very often, and began looking sickly and pale after awhile. When he turned eleven his parents spoke to the Headmaster about Remus, and the Headmaster made accommodations so Remus would be able to attend Hogwarts. The idea of going to Hogwarts scared him, he was worried that no one would like him, that he might hurt someone during the full moons, that he wouldn't bring enough chocolate, all sorts of things. On the train to Hogwarts he made friends with three boys, and the four of them would become known as the Marauders. Remus was sorted into Gryffindor, despite his parents assuming he'd be a Ravenclaw. His seven years at Hogwarts were likely the happiest years of his life, he had friends who cared about him, even enough to become illegal animagi to help him during the full moon. After school, Remus had trouble finding work, and the last thing he was going to do was mooch off of friends, and family. Most employers didn't want to hire a werewolf, never mind how friendly, intelligent, or qualified for the job he was. His main job was working with the Order of the Phoenix when it came about. He worked in a book shop for a while, on minimum wage, living in an extremely unfortunate looking room at the Leaky Cauldron. Then the world turned upside down. In 1981 Remus lost all his friends, supposedly three to death, and one to evil or insanity or something that seemed to come completely out of the blue. The only good thing to come out of it all was the defeat of Voldemort. During the eighties Remus worked the odd jobs for poor pay, getting shabbier, and shabbier by the year. In 1993, to his utter surprise, Headmaster Dumbledore asked him to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for that year. Of course there was no way Remus could turn it down. Knowing the likelihood of trouble on the Hogwarts Express was rather likely, what with Sirius Black, his old friend, loose from Azkaban, and likely searching for Harry Potter, and the dementors searching for Black, Remus rode the train with the students on September 1st that year rather than going to Hogwarts early. It was a good thing he did, too, as dementors did search the train, and Remus was likely the only person on the train who could make a corporeal patronus. During that school year he taught the students more than they'd likely been taught in years, sometimes to good music, even. He confiscated from Harry Potter the map he'd helped create many years ago, the Marauders Map, and due to a glance at it he discovered that not only was Sirius Black on the grounds, but more importantly Peter Pettigrew, who was supposed be dead was on it. Of course he went to the Shrieking Shack to stop whoever was going to kill whoever, completely forgetting about his wolsbane potion & tea. So, of course everything got out of hand, but luckily no one was hurt thanks to a few good distractions. He resigned as the Defense professor, and returned to unemployment, and odd jobs. When Voldemort returned to the world at the end of 1995, and Headmaster Dumbledore reformed the Order of the Phoenix, Remus was one of the first people to join up. He helped in anyway he can, spending more time at Grimmauld place than his own flat. When Sirius, his only friend left of the old gang, died he came to really notice Nymphadora Tonks. He'd gotten along with her before, sure, but they bonded more after Sirius' death, and somewhere along the line Tonks wanted it to go in the romantic direction, which Remus was very much against. He thought he was too old, too poor, and too dangerous for her, as well as the fact that Remus had very little romantic experience and didn't want to make an idiot of himself. After many arguments, and awkward moments they were married in 1997 in a small, private ceremony. Not long after that Tonks became pregnant, and the war was going downhill. At one point Remus was ready to leave his wife, with the belief that they'd be better off without him, but with the help of Harry he realized that it'd be wrong to do such a thing, and he went back, and never brought up the subject again. Ted Lupin, named so for Tonks' recently deceased father, was born in April of 1998. Not long after that was the battle at Hogwarts, where Remus finally met the fate all his friends had before him. Remus John Lupin died May 2nd 1998, along with his wife, leaving his son an orphan. Samples. Either a first person entry or a third person entry. If you have a linkable log, that's fine to. Remus sat on a park bench not far from Grimmauld Place, thinking about what had all happened that night. He'd left the Tonkses household to try to convince Harry to let him come along on whatever they were doing to foil Voldemort. He'd left his pregnant wife to try to tag along with three kids on some adventure. He snorted, thinking about how ridiculous it was. What sort of lows had he sunken to? And Harry had told him off about leaving Tonks to try and tag along with the Trio. Remus let out a laugh that spooked a bird in a tree nearby. He'd been told off by a kid. A kid who clearly knew more about what was right and wrong than Remus did. The world was certainly strange. With a sigh, Remus pulled out his wand, stood up, and apparated back to the street the Tonkses lived on, with it's bright street lamps, and nice houses. He went back to where he really did belong, with Tonks, and their unborn child, and as he did he pondered on just how intelligent the Trio was, and thought that if any teenagers could change the tide of the war, it was those three. Who does your character support? The Order of the Phoenix, and seeing as most of the Order supports the Goverment, Remus does as well. | |||||||||
